In week 7
I imprinted the X and O's on the 9 blocks, I did this by heating up a piece of metal with either a X or O on it and then I pressed down the heated metal onto the wooden block.
Finally I coated all my bits of wood with oil varnish and waited for it to dry

Term 1 week 6
In week 6
I glued the inner pieces of wood inside the box.
I also cut out and sanded 9 40mm blocks, that I will be using for the X's and O's.

Term 1 Week 4/5
In week 4
In week 5
I started marking out the frame for the X's and O's box.
I Cut out the finger joints for the 4 pieces of wood with a tenon saw, chisel and mallet.
I also cut out the housed joints as you can see below.
In week 5
I glued all of the finger joints together.
I also glued and nailed the base on to give it more support since the finger joints were loose.
When the glue dried I marked out 4 new pieces of wood to go into the housed joints.
I then cut out the marked joints with a tenon saw, chisel and mallet.

I am making a Noughts and Crosses Box.
